what if I fall? oh, my darling, what if you fly by Erin Hanson

I absolutely love this saying.  Today, I had an epiphany.  I understand now why I am so passionate about starting this blog.  I was watching a video by Sizzix, “meet the designer”, on an interview with Tim Holtz.  He’s such a wonderfully humble artist.  He spoke about art and creativity and how it really has no boundaries, no right or wrong.  And it was in that moment that I realized that at an early age, all I have memories of are either being told how to do something or being told that what I did wasn’t right.  I am not upset by this, it has shaped me into the person I am today.  But having said that, it comes with it’s pro’s and con’s.  With this blog I want to escape this thought process.  I want this to be a place where any creative soul can come and share and be inspired by being free of others ideas of right and wrong, good or bad, and just create.  Let’s try and change the way we think about ourselves.  I think about falling or failing everyday, and it is such a negative way of looking at things.  Let this be a place where there is nothing but positive support.  It isn’t easy, we are hard on ourselves and hard on others, I struggle with this everyday.  But through creativity maybe we can feel less like we are falling and more like we are flying.
